Dr. E-Liisa Laakso is an internationally recognized leader in photobiomodulation (PBM), laser therapy, and neuro-rehabilitation. As a Principal Research Fellow in Allied Health at the Mater Research Institute - University of Queensland in Brisbane, and Honorary Associate Professor at The University of Queensland, she brings translational and clinical research experience to her role as Scientific Advisor for Neuronic.
Dr. Laakso was among the first in Australia to earn a PhD specifically in the field of laser therapy, and she has since pioneered studies exploring how red and near-infrared light can support pain relief, lymphoedema management, inflammation reduction, and neurodegenerative recovery. Her current research focus encompasses exploring PBMโs potential in chronic disease recovery, cancer rehabilitation, and neuro-degeneration - making her a vital asset to Neuronicโs mission of optimizing brain health through cutting-edge light therapy.
She has authored dozens of peer-reviewed publications, led major grant-funded projects, and presented at global conferences on laser and PBM technology.
